Account Suspended – What Can I Do?

If you are receiving an “Account Suspended” page when trying to access your site, it means exactly what it says – your account was suspended. This was done either automatically, or by Onra Host’s staff. The suspension could be for a number of reasons, including:

  • Past due payment.
  • CPU limit exceeded.
  • Bandwidth limit exceeded.
  • Violation of our Terms of Service.
  • DDoS attack.
  • Abuse complaint received.
  • Payment chargeback received.

Please contact our support department to find out why your account was suspended. Simply send an email to support@onrahost.com. We will be able to tell you why your account was suspended. Our techs will also be able to assist with resolution. Most accounts can be unsuspended almost immediately. However, this can vary depending on the reason for the suspension.

How Can I Avoid Getting Suspended?

To avoid an account suspension, keep the following in mind:

Prevent Your Account From Becoming Past Due. A past due account is the most common cause for a suspension. Always pay your invoices on time whenever possible. If you suspect your payment will be late for any reason, send an email to our billing department at billing@onrahost.com. We will be more than happy to work with you! We are usually able to provide a reasonable extension.

Follow The TOS and AUP. Violations of the Onra Host Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy will typically lead to a suspension. Our rules aren’t too strict!

Take Your Security Seriously. A good rule of thumb in general. It is important to make security a priority. Outdated PHP scripts and weak passwords can lead to malicious scripts being uploaded to your account. Malicious scripts will typically drive up CPU usage, send out spam email, and launch attacks on other websites. If any of this happens, cPanel will typically automatically suspend your account.
